This apple pie sensory bin includes scented 3-ingredient cloud dough to create fine motor and pretend play for kids. To play with the book Ten Apples Up On Top.


 

This apple pie sensory bin uses scented cloud dough for kids to make pretend pies. This is excellent for pretend play, early math skills such as counting, and fine motor practice.

This apple pie sensory bin is the perfect compliment to the book, Ten Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss and includes scented cloud dough which is an edible base perfect for sensory play with babies or toddlers.

Apple Pie Sensory Bin

Scooping and pouring are favorite toddler activities. This apple scented cloud dough is easy to make with just 3 ingredients, and the bin is so easy to assemble with kids. This is a sure Fall favorite for us!

Read the book Ten Apples Up On Top before playing, then set up the bin, and read again while playing with the apple pie sensory bin. What a fun Fall activity for kids.

What you need for the Apple Pie Sensory Bin:

Scented Cloud Dough Ingredients

2 cups of flour

1/2 cup of vegetable oil

apple pie spice

Sensory Bin Supplies

scented cloud dough (recipe above)

tray

mini pie tins

artificial apples

scoops or spoons

brown/tan felt strips

Ten Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss

To Assemble the Apple Pie Sensory Bin:

Make the cloud dough by mixing the ingredients above. The consistency should be crumbly but not easy to squeeze into balls. If it is too floury, add more oil. If too wet, add more flour.

Add the apple pie cloud dough to the tray.

To the cloud dough, add the pie tins, scoops or spoons, apples, and felt strips.

Kids can practice scooping the dough into the mini pie tins.

To the tins, add some fake apples and top with felt crust.

As a fun bonus, we added some pumpkins to our bin after a few times making apple pie, making pumpkin apple pie too!
