What to do:
Dip one end of a wine cork in yellow paint. You can dab off some of the extra on a paper towel if you wish.
Dab the end of the wine cork with paint on it, onto the canvas.
If you want to direct the Easter painting: For every chick that you would like to make on the canvas, make a circle with the wine cork. Be sure to space out your circles so that you have room to make the rest of the chick’s bodies.
To make this more like process art: Allow the children to stamp all over the canvas, discovering how they are making circles, etc. You will still be able to turn these into chicks but the process will be a bit more free, some of the chicks just might be smoothed together 🙂
While the paint is drying, cut out small diamond shapes from the orange cardstock with scissors. Fold each diamond shape in half to form a beak. Make one beak for each chick you will have on your canvas.
Once the paint has dried, draw on two eyes in each circle with a black marker, and draw two legs with little feet coming out of the bottom of each stamped circle.
Use a paintbrush to paint on small wing shapes, one on each side of each wine cork circle on your canvas.
Glue on a beak to the front of each wine cork circle, just below the eyes that you drew on in step 3.
