This felt pancake busy bag is perfect for your children and fine motor skills. Great to play with as an extension activity to, ‘If You Give a Pig a Pancake’
We adore Laura Numeroff books in our house! They are awesome go-tos if we want to make the kids laugh 🙂 For this week of the Virtual Book Club for Kids, we are reading If You Give a Pig a Pancake, and it doesn’t disappoint! Check out our felt pancake busy bag that we made to play along with it!

Felt Pancake Busy Bag
What you need:
- felt pieces
- wood rounds
- scissors
- black Sharpie
- zippered pouch
- glue
- If You Give a Pig a Pancake
What to do:
Glue some neutral brown felt onto wooden rounds to serve as a pancake base (we used the other side of the rounds from our felt emoji busy bag – this way I can just swap the rounds out between the two bags!).
From various colored felt, cut out syrup, butter, whipped cream, fruit slices, bacon etc. – whatever toppings your child might like to play with!
Kids can decorate the tops of their pancakes with toppings galore! We pretended to feed our stuffed animal pigs, played ‘diner’, and enjoyed a pancake feast! Get creative!
If you want to make the fruit slices etc look a bit more defined, simple draw some texture with a black sharpie. The play potential is endless!
