This color scavenger hunt will have the kids running around outside (and inside)  and burning off energy. Plus, they’ll be looking for the colored items, too!

Getting the kids outside and moving their bodies is a great way to pass the day and keep them active. This color scavenger hunt will also have them working on learning their colors, too. This is such a fun outdoor activity for the kids. (indoor fun as well!)

Color Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunts are great but after a while, they’re all kind of the same. The cool part about this color treasure hunt is that it’s different in that they’re looking for objects that are certain colors.

This means that each time that they play, they could easily find something new and different! As long as you give them the directive that they can’t do the same objects over and over, it will keep these fun printables new time and time again.

What’s on the Color Scavenger Hunt?

Since this printable comes with two options, you’re going to have twice the fun.

The outdoor and indoor treasure hunt has the following colors that the kids will have to find:

  • Red
  • Blue
  • Yellow
  • Gray
  • Brown
  • Purple
  • Pink
  • Green
  • Orange
  • White
  • Black

Some of the colors are on both while the others are not. If you like this color scavenger hunt, make certain to check out our Camping Scavenger Hunt Printable Game as well.

For example, the outside color hunt has more muted colors such as black, gray, and brown, whereas the indoor hunt has brighter colors that might be easier to find indoors during any season.

How to complete the scavenger hunt

It’s so simple to do! Grab the inside or outside sheet, depending on what the kids want to do, and have them start running around and finding the colors.

Once the find it, they can write down the object or draw it in the space that it fits. Your child can easily use this once or twice a week to try to find new and fun objects in and around the house. Not only does it work on their color skills but it works on their drawing skills and writing skills, too!

Get creative with this scavenger hunt and see what other ways they can play with it!
