Imagination is a powerful parenting tool! Check out 5 of our favorite imaginary adventures for car rides with kids below.
Being On-the-Go Can Be Fun!
My 3-year-old spends more time in the car dropping off and picking up his older siblings to and from school and extracurricular activities that I had ever anticipated. I have found that turning many of these car rides into adventures can take an hour-long car ride and turn it into great fun for all of us. Plus, as a mom who worries about everything, I find peace in trusting our Maxi-Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat to keep my little adventurer safe.
The Maxi-Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat easily transitions between five modes of use, from Baby Rear-Facing, Toddler Rear-Facing, Toddler Forward-Facing, Child Forward-Facing and Belt Positioning Booster.. Meaning, it’s sticking around for A LOT of imaginary car adventures. As with every Maxi-Cosi car seat, it’s designed with style and comfort in mind, making even the long-lasting adventures bearable. You can find the Maxi-Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat (retail price $349.99) at Amazon, Target.com, Buy Buy Baby, Nordstrom.com, and Albee Baby.
Raid the dress-up bin and grab a couple of stuffed animals, and head out on your next imaginary adventure in the car!
5 Imaginary Adventures for Car Rides with Kids
Set sail like a pirate. Head out on a pirate adventure over the stormy seas! Grab a bandana or an old pillowcase and create some pirate wear or even an eye patch! Watch out for the storm clouds up ahead…those potholes in the road can make for some rough seas.
Go on a dino hunt. Grab a magnifying glass or some binoculars, you’re going to need great vision to grab a look at one of these! Did you know, birds are the closest living relatives to dinosaurs? This means you can point out a vulture from your car window as you spot a real dinosaur!
Ride the rainbow! This is a great one for toddlers who love to practice their color recognition skills and the colors of the rainbow. Can you ride a real rainbow? Find objects of every color outside you car window, and pretend you are riding that color of the rainbow! Spot a yellow digger? Pretend you are in it!
Head out on a space adventure. 3…2…1…Blastoff! Countdown as you head down the driveway and blast into space. Bonus points for dressing like a real astronaut on this one.
It’s a superhero quest. My little guy has a plethora of superhero dress-ups. Grab a cape, superman has a call! See someone crossing the street out your window? Pretend Superman is there to help!
With just a little imagination and a safe car seat, those hours in the car with kids can turn into amazing adventures that never get old!
