Lemonade Oobleck
Here’s the deal about this lemonade oobleck. It just smells like summer. And parents, it’s going to be a little messy to make…but I can assure you that it’s worth it in the end. This craft is fun and will keep your child engaged and entertained for hours. There’s just something so comforting about having this squishiness between your fingers!
This is a fun hands-on science project for kids of all ages. Is it a liquid? Is it solid? That depends on how you touch it. When pressure is applied the cornstarch bond together to form a solid, when a soft touch is applied to the fluid, it remains in the liquid state. This non-newtonian fluid is a great example of suspension, as the grains of cornstarch are suspended in the water, but over time will settle to the bottom if allowed to rest for an extended amount of time.
