Calling all Elsa lovers! This super simple ‘Frozen Ice’ paint is just salt water! Kids love the magic of painting with ‘water’ and having it turn into ‘ice’! Plus, there’s a little science component as well 😉
We started by finding some coarse salt in our cabinet. I’m sure different types of salt would have different outcomes…science experiment perhaps?! We microwaved a cup of water until boiling and then added 1/2 cup of salt.
Stir the salt into the hot water until it completely dissolves.
Once you have your salt solution, begin painting on black construction paper! I painted a couple of snowflakes for the kids and then gave them the creative freedom to paint whatever they wanted. Mack wanted to paint a snow storm 🙂
As you can see the paper just looks wet…let it dry completely and voila! Magic!
The salt forms some nice crystals that look like ice. So easy to set up and clean up; and all kids love anything that you can call magic!!
