We loved making our Earth Day seed paper so much, we decided to make it as gifts for the Moms in our lives! It is so easy and fun to make and can produce flowers for years depending on the type of seed you choose to use.
Make Seed Paper
To see the process of making the paper check out this blog post.
We just modified the shape of the paper to say ‘I love you’. A cookie cutter is the easiest way to make the shapes, I love these cookie cutters (that would also be great for playdough, sensory bins, etc.) and used a heart-shaped cookie cutter that was a favor at our wedding almost 5 years ago 🙂
Once you have blended your paper and added the seeds (we use a wildflower mix), simply pour the mixture in your mold and leave it to dry in a tea or paper towel.
I love a good homemade gift, and since I live across the country from my mom, I prefer this to sending flowers which can be super pricey! (Not that she isn’t worth it). I like to make sure that the kids celebrate their grandmas on Mother’s Day as well, and what grandma doesn’t enjoy a homemade gift involving flowers??
