It’s finally starting to feel like spring in our neck of the woods! Which means it’s time to keep the kids occupied OUTSIDE! This stay at home mom spends much of the day chasing the 2 and 4 year old tornadoes that rip through my home, so I happen to be a fan of anything that can keep them busy in the backyard.
To make the sidewalk paint, simply mix cornstarch, water and food coloring. To see the full post on how we make it, read here. We LOVE using this to paint the sidewalks with brushes or even our fingers. You can also use liquid watercolors in the squirt guns if you have those on hand!
After you have decided on your paint, fill the squirt guns and take them outside! How easy is that?!
I chose to have the kids paint poster board on the ground but you could also hang some paper up on a fence much like a target.
The kids enjoyed the freedom of going crazy with their paint – of course there was a lot in my backyard that got painted aside from the paper (including people) – but this is why we went with the sidewalk chalk paint 😉
Our finished products were beautiful!
