We are on vacation this week so I have been brainstorming activities and projects that I can do with the kiddos on the beach! I love watching the kids play and explore with the natural environment so this is going to be a lot of fun for me! We were flying so because of limited packing space these will all be pretty straightforward and will not involve a lot of materials…although I did pack glue and cornstarch to make slime…
Watercolors are so much fun and seemed like the perfect medium for painting rocks and shells. They were easy and lightweight to pack and we certainly had no shortage of water to paint with at the beach! First we had to go hunting for our materials.
Once we had our rocks and shells we got a bucket of water and laid our materials out on a towel. Luckily the watercolors are washable..I hope the hotel won’t mind a painted towel…
Ava loved splashing in the water bucket while Mack painted!
And enjoyed eating while Mack painted…
Which meant that it occupied Mack for quite a while!
Aren’t they beautiful?! Now I need to think of something fun to do with them when we get home!
Stay tuned for more beach fun and check out my Beach Ideas board on Pinterest!
