This gratitude jar is incredibly simple to make at home! My kids love doing anything that requires glue and a paintbrush, so this was right up our alley. We are doing a month of gratitude, where I have come up with a series of daily activities to encourage gratitude and kindness in my kids! This was our first activitiy to kick off the month. We keep the jar on our kitchen table. Each night, every member of the family writes or draws something they are grateful for and place it in the jar,

Make your own up cycled gratitude jar! Encourage thankfulness in your kids.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Glass jar (pickle, mason, etc…)
  • Tissue paper
  • Mod Podge
  • Foam Paintbrush
  • Paper
  • Marker
  • Twine (optional)

  1. Cut issue paper into squares. You can use as many colors as you want!3
  2. Paint Mod Podge (affiliate link at bottom) all over the jar with the foam brush.
  3. Place tissue paper all over the jar.
  4. On your piece of paper, with a sharpie, label the jar with a name or a prompt (optional).
  5. Cover the entire jar with another layer of Mod Podge

6.  Let dry and wrap a piece of twine or ribbon around the top for decoration! (optional)

We are loving our gratitude jar…so far my 4 year old is grateful for his sister, best friend, and Dunkin Donuts. Ava (2) is grateful for carrots and tomatoes 🙂

Please join in on any or all of our prompts! You can follow along with me on Instagram!
