We are continuing our ‘winter’ activities and started discussing igloos today! Whenever I’m unsure of how to explain something like how ice can be insulating and create heat to a 3 year old I turn to children’s books…much easier! Curious George Builds an Igloo to the rescue.
So once we knew about igloos we started constructing our own. We decided to use sugar cubes and frosting as our building materials…fun and tasty to lick off of fingers!
This is pretty straightforward! Spread some frosting on a cube and start building! Although igloos are traditionally circular…we decided that a square would be much less frustrating…
This was great fine-motor practice and opened up the door to some great imaginative play!
Mack has decided that we will let this ‘dry’ and then try to add a roof tomorrow…we will see how that goes…
