This is one of our favorite warm-weather activities. It is so incredibly easy to make and fun to use. All you need is cornstarch, food coloring (or liquid watercolors) and water.
Mix 1 part cornstarch with 1 part water, stir until it is liquid and add the coloring.
Scooping and mixing is so fun for kids and great for developing their motor skills. Mack is now starting to understand the concepts of 1/4, 1/2 etc. so it makes it extra fun!
We like to use old egg cartons as paint palettes!
You can experiment with different objects to paint with. We like to use spray bottles, squeeze bottles, and regular paintbrushes. We have used it like finger paints before but it works best that way if you make the paint a little thicker.
If you want your sidewalk to be cleaned completely and quickly I would suggest washing the paint off shortly after you are done using it. It doesn’t stain but if it sit and dries for a while it makes it a little tougher to clean.
Check out how we used the paint to make fireworks to celebrate Memorial Day!
