This Christmas Window Ornament Craft is a simple way for toddlers and preschoolers to create their very own holiday decor. Use to decorate your home or give as a fun homemade gift.

Making homemade ornaments have always been fun. There’s just something about gathering up the needed supplies and making something beautiful with your own two hands. I have great memories of doing this as a child and I know that my children do now as well. This Christmas Window Ornament Craft is another great example of being able to create something beautiful that they’ll remember forever.

Christmas Window Ornament Craft

I just can’t get over how cute these are…and that checkered plaid is just drawing me in. It’s such a simple craft that showcases the view of the tree from the window looking in and I just love the outcome of it every time we make it.

I really love teaching the kids that you don’t have to have a ton of supplies or an elaborate craft kit to create something magical. Believe it or not, but this window ornament craft only has 5 needed supplies to it! Plus, it’s so simple that toddlers can make it too by assembling the pre-cut paper into their own interpretations of a Christmas tree, which is always adorable to see what they come up with.

You can also make this recycled paper Christmas tree ornament or a paper Rudolph ornament easily with the kids as well!

What you need to make this Christmas Window Ornament Craft:

Patterned scrapbook paper

Green construction paper

Star sticker

Craft sticks

Glue

How to make a Christmas Window Ornament Craft:

Cut out a square of patterned scrapbook paper.

Cut out four triangles and glue them to the scrapbook paper to make a Christmas tree.

Top the Christmas tree with a star sticker.

Form a windowpane with craft sticks by gluing two sticks into a cross, then adding a frame with four more craft sticks.

Glue the window pane to the scrapbook paper.

Isn’t it just the cutest? You can easily add a little piece of string on the back so you can hang it from your tree or you can have it sitting on your tree branch as well.

And if you want to display this before putting your tree up, just make it and have it sitting on shelves. There are so many fun ways to display this craft easily.
