This wrapped string Rudolph ornament craft uses popsicle sticks wrapped in string to create adorable reindeer to hang on your tree or display as a craft.

Making homemade Christmas ornaments was always one of my favorite holiday traditions growing up. The weather was always a little chillier, and our days spent inside were full of crafting. This string Rudolph ornament craft is such a fun Winter craft for kids. Plus, string wrapping is a great fine motor activity for little hands!

Popsicle Stick and String Rudolph Ornament Craft

These are so cute, and, you don’t need a Christmas tree to enjoy them! Hang them from the window, omit the string and set them on the mantle, or add a popsicle stick stake in the back and place it in an indoor potted plant. The choice is yours!

Wrapping string is great for fine motor skills, which is necessary for pre-handwriting in kids. Using pincer grasp and the muscles in the tips of the fingers is perfect for this. This craft uses popsicle sticks and string to made some adorable Rudolph ornaments that kids will love to craft. If you love this one, you will want to make our paper Rudolph ornament craft too!

Toddlers will love to assemble and glue the craft sticks, wrap the string, and add the face! Perfect for young children, preschoolers, and older children alike!

What you need to make the string Rudolph ornament craft:

Popsicle Sticks

Mini Popsicle Sticks

Dark and Light Brown Paint

Paintbrush

Glue

String or Yarn

Pom Poms

Decorate String or Ribbon

Googly Eyes

How to make the string Rudolph ornament craft:

Paint the popsicle sticks with dark brown paint and allow them to dry completely.

Paint the mini popsicle sticks with light brown paint and allow them to dry completely.

Glue the dark brown popsicle sticks into a triangle. If making this with young children, pre-assemble the craft sticks or help children glue them together.

Wrap the popsicle sticks in brown string or yarn and secure with glue.

Glue the googly eyes onto the reindeer and a red pom pom at the bottom. This is a fun step to give kids the creative freedom with. Give them the eyes and the nose, and see how they like to assemble their Rudolph face!

Glue the mini popsicle sticks into antlers and glue onto the back of the reindeers.

Loop a decorate string or ribbon and glue onto the back of the ornament to hang.

These are absolutely adorable and the kids will love to add them to their collection of homemade ornament crafts for yearly display! Enjoy making this string Rudolph ornament craft.
