Preschoolers especially love the gooey dough and the ability to transform a ball of playdough into just about anything. This strawberry playdough recipe is great for any time of the year, but also makes a fun February activity for kids.
Creamy Strawberry Playdough Recipe
Making homemade playdough is an inexpensive alternative to buying store-bough playdough. Plus, it’s a great way to mix up the colors and scents. This strawberry playdough smells like sweet strawberries, has a creamy texture, and a nice pink color. Kids will love to play with it!
What you need to make the strawberry playdough:
1 cup of bleached flour
1 cup of warm water
1 tablespoon cream of tartar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon extra fine glitter
1 drop pink gel food coloring
1/2 teaspoon Lorann strawberry flavoring
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
How to make the strawberry playdough
1. In a large bowl or pot, mix together the flour, water, cream of tartar, vegetable oil, food coloring and flavoring (for a scent) in a large mixing bowl.
2. Scoop the mixture into a sauce pan and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes while stirring constantly until your mixture turns into dough.
3. Once your dough forms, place it aside to cool off.
4. Roll the dough in extra fine glitter and use heart shaped cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
