This egg carton penguin craft is made from recycled materials and is the perfect winter craft for preschoolers or young children.
Egg cartons are a popular choice for craft material for many reasons. They are readily available for most households and using them for crafting is an inexpensive and great way to use recyclables. Egg cartons are easy to cut, shape, and paint. They can be manipulated with basic craft tools, making them a great material for both children and adults.
The texture of egg carton material can add an interesting element to crafts. It can be painted, decorated, or even covered with other materials like paper, fabric, or clay. Egg carton crafts are typically lightweight, making them suitable for a variety of projects, including ornaments, masks, and small sculptures.
Common egg carton craft projects include making flowers, insects, animals, masks, and ornaments. With a bit of creativity, egg cartons can be transformed into unique and beautiful creations. How to make the egg carton penguins
Paint both egg carton cups with white paint and let dry.
Once dry, paint the sides and back of the egg carton with black paint to create the penguin look.
Attach the two egg cartons to one another using a popsicle stick. With small children, white glue is fine but will take some time to dry. With older children, hot glue might be an easier option.
Attach the googly eyes to the front of the penguin’s face.
Cut two oval shapes out of black paper to make the penguins wings. Attach to the sides of the egg carton with glue.
From yellow paper, cut the beak and the feet and attach them to the penguin as shown in the photo.
