My 7 year old daughter loves using her fine motor skills to create, and these paper flowers are perfect for her. Check out how to make these below, and adapt the process to make simple or more intricate flowers for various age levels.

How to make the paper flower wreath:

Paint the paper plate green and let dry, then cut the center out to form a wreath.

Download the print the flower template. Cut out the flowers and trace the petals onto colorful crepe paper, then cut the flower petals out of the crepe paper.

Trace the fringe onto colorful paper that will be the center of your flowers, we chose to use yellow for this. Cut out and then fringe the edges with scissors.

Trace the leaf onto shades of green paper and cut out then glue to the paper plate.

To make the flowers you will need to start by creating a bud to work off of. Loop the floral wire and add a crumpled piece of crepe paper at the top. Wrap this with more crepe paper and then use floral tape to secure by wrapping around over and over.

Start adding your petals all around the bud by securing with floral tape. Continue this until the flower is as full as you’d like.

Experiment with different sizes and colors.

Snip the wire off the bottom of the flowers.

Glue leaves and flowers onto the paper plate in an arrangement that you like.

These are beautiful and make great DIY decor for your home. My daughter has hers proudly displayed on her bedroom door.

Have so much fun making this paper flower wreath!
