This pirate and mermaid printable board game is a fun dice and counting game for kids. From preschoolers to elementary aged children. Print it for free.

Playing board games are one of the best ways to practice social skills and academic concepts such as counting, number identification and color identification. We have a collection of printable board games on this site that kids love to play. This pirate and mermaid printable board game is a great one for preschoolers and elementary-aged kids alike.

Pirate and Mermaid Printable Board Game

Board games involve so many opportunities for critical thinking. Children need to identify and count numbers, strategize and take turns.

This pirates and mermaids printable board game is great for preschoolers and early elementary aged children. My 9 year old has been playing these types of games since he was 4 years old, and he still loves them.

This game has a printable dice if you don’t have a physical one on hand, cute character tokens that kids will love, and a 2 page game board to print.

Setting Up the Pirates and Mermaid Printable Board Game

Print the board game here.

Cut out all of the game tokens to use as game pieces. Laminate or glue to cardboard circles for durability if you want to play this one over and over.

Assemble the printable dice by cutting along the outer black line, then folding in the tabs. Glue the tabs or tape the edges together. This of course is optional if you don’t have a dice on hand, it might be easier to use a dice around the house if you have one.

Tape the two game sheets together to create the game board. You can laminate this as well or paste onto a piece of cardboard or poster board.

How to play the Pirate and Mermaid Printable Board Game

Once the game is set up, each player can choose a game token and place their pieces on the start space.

Taking turns, players can roll the dice and move that amount of spaces on the board.

The board games does have a few spaces on the game board where players might need to move backward or forward, but in general, it’s a straightforward counting game where kids roll and move until they reach the treasure chest!
