It’s a Moana craze over in my house right now! Ever since making our DIY kids’ Moana necklaces (they’re SUPER easy), my daughter wants to play, craft and create with a Moana theme every day. This fun Moana-inspired printable board game is just perfect to whip out at any time. Just print and play!

This Moana-inspired Island printable board game is a great freebie to use with preschool and up. Race to the Ocean in this fun game!

Play with this awesome Moana-inspired board game

This printable board game is all about the island life. From fun tikis to beautiful island flowers, this game will almost make you feel like you are actually on vacation 😉 To my daughter, anything resembling a coconut is a Kakamora, any shelled sea creature is Tamatoa, and every rock is the heart of Te Fiti.

Just Print and Play

To get the board game, simply fill out the form below (which grants you access to all of our free goodies) and it will be delivered right to your inbox.

Rules

We call this our Race to the Ocean Board Game!

All players start on the ‘start’ space. Taking turns, players draw cards to determine how far to move.

Most cards will have a single image and the player should move to the nearest space with the matching image.

Some cards have doubles, in which case, the player moves to the next two spaces with the matching image.

To win, players must land on the final tiki space next to the ocean!

Printable Board Game Tips

  • Print on cardstock or on the back of scrapbook paper
  • Laminate the board game (we laminate the game cards too but they do get slippery this way)
  • Use glass beads, mini figurines or coins as game pieces. (shells would be cute here too!)
  • Put mini figures in playdough so that they don’t fall over (that tip courtesy of my friend over at Parenting From the Heart)

If you enjoy this game and would like to upgrade your freebie, there is a Moana-inspired Island Game Pack in my shop. Included in the pack are the Race to the Ocean Board Game, a Bingo Game, Clip Cards, Puzzles, and a Matching Game! Check it our below.
