Board games are such a huge hit with my kids. The benefits of board games go beyond just having fun, kids can learn about numbers, letter and shapes, how to take turns, and hand-eye coordination and dexterity. This rainbow unicorn printable board game is perfect for learning the order of the rainbow through fun and play!
About the Rainbow Unicorn Printable Board Game
This board game starts with the color red and continues on through the colors of the rainbow to race to the finish line with unicorns and rainbows!
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple can all be found in the playing cards along with some friendly unicorns searching for their rainbow!
Game play begins by drawing a card and moving to the color designated on the game board.
If a player draws a unicorn card, they must move to that space on the board (which might be backwards).
Additionally, there are two arrows on the game board which can move a player forward or backwards.
This game helps young kids learn to take turns and wait, and can also prove to be a test in patience as players might have to move backwards throughout play.

We play a lot of board games in my house…a lot. I have a few other printable board games in my shop (Moana and Camping are our favorites).
A couple of tips for playing printable board games:
- laminate everything (this one is my favorite, and it keeps everything lasting quite a long time)
- use glass beads, coins or small manipulatives as game pieces
- store games in a file folder or inside a binder (we punch holes in ours and store in a three ring binder)

That looks so fun! My class will love being able to make their own board game… and yes, unicorns are still big with the kiddos.
