Frog life cycle printable puzzle for kids. Puzzle shows the metamorphosis of a tadpole for a frog, and is great for preschoolers and older children.

Learning about life cycles is such a fun topic with kids. When observing life cycles, children learn about change and transformation, and some of these changes are quite magical in their eyes.

The life cycle of a frog is a transformation from egg, to tadpole, to frog and the changes that occur are quite impressive. We’ve discussed this change through play in a frog life cycle sensory bin, frog life cycle painted rocks, a printable frog life cycle board game, and in this frog life cycle printable puzzle.

Using Printables in Early Learning

Printable resources can make learning at home or in the classroom easy and fun. Children learn best through hands-on play, this we know. Printables such as board games, puzzles and cutting and pasting activities all encourage children make brain connections by playing an active role in their learning, rather than just listening to information.

For example, when teaching the frog life cycle, if you tell all of the children that a tadpole hatches from an egg, grows legs, then loses the tail, becomes a frog, and can now breathe out of the water, they might not really be able to understand exactly what you are saying. But, once you invoice pictures and activities that they can manipulate and play with, the connections become much more impactful.

Printable Frog Life Cycle Puzzle

This is a very basic puzzle that toddlers and preschoolers can use and understand. The puzzle creates a circle, demonstrating the life cycle process.

A frog egg, becomes a tadpole, it grows back legs and front legs, then loses its tail, and becomes a mature frog!

To use this puzzle with younger children, have them assemble it around the inner circle, using it as a guide. For older children, omit the inner circle and let them assemble the puzzle without it, this makes it a bit more difficult to place together, and will encourage them to rely on their knowledge of the life cycle process.
