We love process art and the opportunities for combining movement with art. Art is such a wonderful expression of self, and combining many of the senses in art really makes for a fun project. This sensory stomp painting combines almost all of the senses and creates some beautiful works of art in the process!
Sensory Stomp Painting
What you need:
- bubble wrap
- poster board
- masking tape
- washable paint
What to do:
- Squirt some paint onto a poster board.
- Cover with a piece of bubble wrap.
- Tape the bubble wrap to the poster board.
- Have your children jump and stomp on the bubble wrap!
This is a great way to make painting baby-safe. Similar to the paint-in-a-bag technique for toddlers, the paint stays trapped under the bubble wrap, making for a mess-free experience!
A really fun way to play with this, is to use two primary colors and practice some color mixing when stomping! We made a beautiful color green with our blue and yellow paint.
It is also wonderful to do as collaborative art because of it’s large scale, perfect for a group of little feet 🙂
