Play outside
Just because it’s winter, it doesn’t mean you cannot play outside. Choose a warmer day and allow your kids to play outside with their friends. The adults can join in on the fun too. Dress warm because being outside, even in warmer temps, can be cold. Here is some of our favorite cold-weather gear for outdoor play with kids!
Go to a bounce house
One of our favorite winter play dates is going to a local bounce house. Most towns or a town near you has some sort of bounce house. No bounce house? Look for a Sky Zone near you. Most Sky Zone’s have toddler time once a week. It’s also a great activity for friends big and small. They have rules to protect even the littlest jumpers.
Have a craft day!
If you have friends that love crafts, it’s time for an winter craft day. During craft time, just let the kids go crazy and make whatever they want. You don’t need to have a specific craft in mind. Kids love having freedom and moms love their sanity. It’s okay to let them cut, glue, paste, and have fun. Plus, it takes the stress off you.
Head to your local mall
Sometimes your crew just needs to walk around. Gather a few friends and head to the local mall. Some malls even have play places, so you can enjoy a little mom chatter while the littlest ones play. If you have bigger kids, let them bring along a book or something to draw, so they are occupied as the little ones play.
Hit up your local Chick-Fil-A
You cannot deny your love for Chick-Fil-A, can you? They always have a play place and it makes a perfect winter play date idea. Their staff is always accommodating and not having to get your own re-fills is a plus.
The best thing about winter time is it forces you to be creative. Your kids are going to have energy to get out, so you might as well be creative in how you help them figure it out. Whether you choose a play place or let the kids play in the snow, it’s going to be a great winter. Enjoy these winter playdate ideas and let me know some of your ideas below!
