Who needs beach activities?
Playing at the beach is the ultimate sensory experience. The feel of the sand in your toes, the taste of the salty ocean air, the sound of the waves….why would you need anything more than that? But if you are planning a beach vacation or a beach-themed party, these beach activities will take your experience to the max, and will keep the kiddos busy and entertained the whole time…which just might allow you to actually relax and enjoy the beach too 😉
1. Painting Rocks and Shells at the Beach
Simple watercolors make it really easy to do this project while at the beach, or can be done once you have brought your treasures back home making this one of our beach activities that you can actually do anywhere!
2. Sand Slime
Homemade slime is one of my kids’ favorite sensory items to play with, we put a spin on our classic recipe by adding sand!
3. Making Colored Sand at the Beach
Food coloring gets used at our house just about every day, so naturally we took it to the beach with us!
Foam letters attached to the bottom of your shoes make for great sand stamps. You can write your name or make neat beach prints!
All kids love to play trains, why not do it at the beach!
Printable scavenger hunt lists can range from easy to hard and are sure to keep kids of all ages busy!
I hope this list of gives you some inspiration! My kids love doing typical beach activities like playing in the ocean and building sand castles, but they really enjoyed doing these projects as well. After going to the beach every day for a week it was nice to have some different activities to do. I also printed some beach themed coloring pages and brought some crafts like ocean animal stamps to kill some down-time in the hotel room. What a great vacation we had!
