Egg carton crafts are great for turning recyclables into fun activities for kids. Toddlers and older children will love to make these egg carton bats as a fun Halloween craft or seasonal project.
Egg Carton Bats
We eat a lot of the eggs in our house, and egg cartons are always begging to be played with before being tossed into the recycling bin. Cutting them apart is perfect inspiration for many different egg carton projects. If you think these bats are cute, cut a couple extra pieces out and make these Egg Carton Spiders Halloween Craft too!
This fall craft will be just what kids will love to create to get kids into the Halloween spirit.
What you need to make the Egg Carton Bats
● Egg carton
● Tissue
● Black construction paper
● Cardstock or white paper
● Black paint
● Paint brush
● Scissor
● Marker
How to make this adorable bat craft
Paint two egg cartons with black paint and let dry.
Cut two small circles from the cardstock to make the eyes. Using the marker, shade the inner part of the circle to draw pupils. Cut the teeth from the cardstock as well.
Once the paint is dry, assemble the bat body by putting tissue inside one egg carton, then stack the other egg cartons on top and glue together.
Attach the eyes to the upper egg carton and the teeth just below the eyes.
Make the wings from the black paper. You can just trace the template provided by clicking on the image below, or create them yourself.
Attach the wings at the back of the upper egg carton.
And there you have your egg carton bat! Isn’t it just adorable!?
Place these next to your egg carton spiders and they can have a play date 🙂 My kids love to use this as little figurines during play time. They would also make great additions to a fall sensory bin!
