This paper Rudolph ornament craft uses thin recycled cardboard or cardstock and recycled applesauce pouch caps to make an adorable Rudolph kids will love.

Making homemade Christmas ornaments was always one of my favorite holiday traditions growing up. The weather was always a little chillier, and our days spent inside were full of crafting. This recycled paper Rudolph ornament craft is such a fun Winter craft for kids.

Paper Rudolph Ornament Craft

These are so cute, and, you don’t need a Christmas tree to enjoy them! Hang them from the window, omit the string and set them on the mantle, or add a popsicle stick stake in the back and place it in an indoor potted plant. The choice is yours!

This recycled paper ornament can be made by cutting thin recycled cardboard (such as that from a Lego box) and painting, or by using brown cardstock or scrapbook paper. They look absolutely adorable, and a great for a toddler or preschool to make. If you like this Rudolph ornament, check out our string wrapped Rudolph or our recycled egg carton snowman too!

What you need to make the paper Rudolph ornament craft

Thin cardboard or thick brown paper such as cardstock or scrapbook paper

Paint

Paintbrush

Googly Eyes

Red Applesauce Pouch Cap

Mini Popsicle Sticks

Glue

Scissors

Decorative String or Ribbon

How to make the paper Rudolph ornament craft

Cut the thin cardboard or brown cardstock into circles. If using cardboard, paint with brown paint. Allow the paint to dry completely.

Paint mini popsicle sticks with light brown paint and allow them to dry.

Glue the popsicle sticks together to form antlers.

Glue the antlers onto the back of the reindeer.

Glue googly eyes and a red applesauce pouch cap onto the reindeer. We always have applesauce pouch caps laying around in our recycled craft materials bin, so I love these here. Alternatively, you can use a red pom pom if your kids aren’t addicted to applesauce pouches like mine 🙂

Loop a decorative string or ribbon and glue onto the back of the reindeer to hang on the tree.

These are adorable hung on the Christmas tree, or around a door handle. However you choose to display this reindeer paper craft, it it sure to bring some holiday cheer to your house, and your kids will love to make them!
