Fall Apple Playdough Mats: Counting 1-10
We love to go apple picking as a family in the Fall. It’s always one of our Fall bucket list items, and it never gets old. We have done quite a few apple themed activities engaging sensory play and math, and these playdough mats are no different!
Playdough mats offer a work surface for your child’s sensory play that encourages play for a specific subject matter or practice. These numbers 1-10 mats will help your child learn what these numbers looks like, shape and form them in a tactile way, and practice counting. What a fun way to play with playdough right?! And, what a fun Fall activity for kids.
How to use the apple playdough mats
Printable playdough mats are wonderful, but the dough will stick to them without some sort of a cover. We like to use page protectors or a laminator for this. I have a binder of sheet protectors ready and waiting to swap out playdough mats throughout the year. We use this for our beginning sounds A-Z mats that my kids love too.
Tip: These are full sized pages to print per number. I chose to shrink it down when printing to print 4 number buckets per page. See the following image for the printer settings to do this (it saves on paper and laminating – however, younger children might prefer the large sheets!)

Play with your playdough!
Once the pages have been printed and protected, simply set them out with some playdough!
Kids can create the numbers on the bucket, and count apples of playdough to match the number on the mat. Make a ‘snake’ to create the number, and make a ‘ball’ to count the apples!
How many numbers can your kids make?
Have so much fun learning and playing with this fun sensory play printable!
