I just love the versatility of water beads, and my kids love ‘growing’ them, it’s a win-win for everybody. This Fall leaves sensory bin encourages kids to go on a little leaf treasure hunt to fill the foam tree. What fun!

Fall Leaves Sensory Bin with a fun Treasure Hunt
These foam Fall leaves camouflage in a bin of colored water beads making it so much fun for kids to hunt for them to decorate their Fall tree. This is such a simple sensory bin to put together, then close up to save for another day of creating and play. What a fun Fall activity for kids.
What you Need for the Fall Leaves Sensory Bin:
Tree cut from brown craft foam
Closing Bin (these scrapbook paper containers are my favorite)
To Make the Fall Leaves Sensory Bin:
Grow the water beads according to package directions. (These usually take about 4 hours or so, so plan ahead for this step.)
Add the water beads to the closing bin, and then place the foam leaves in the water beads.
Kids can explore the bin and the water beads, discovering the foam leaves hidden inside.
The moisture from the water beads will moisten the craft foam, making it stick to other foam objects.
Kids can find the fall leaves in the bin, and add them to the foam tree. Because of the moisture, these leaves will stick to the tree, but are also easy to remove, allowing kids to play over and over again.
Using a closing bin will keep the water beads moist, allowing kids to play with these on other days as well!
Have so much fun discovering and playing with this hidden fall leaves sensory bin.
