This fun Thanksgiving turkey craft uses the letter ‘T’ to combine some early reading and letter identification with arts and crafts.
This super simple ‘T’ is for Turkey craft is so much fun for holiday preparation! We were inspired by this turkey craft and added our spin on it with handprints. My kids really enjoy the holidays, and getting our craft on has just become a part of the whole celebration.
To Make Your ‘T’ is for Turkey Craft
Handprint art is so cute! My kids adore tracing their own hands on paper, they are surprised every time they lift their hand only to reveal a print that looks just like them. It’s adorable.
Handprint art also makes for cute keepsake crafts, as kids grow, parents can reminisce over how small they once were. And, a letter craft is a really great way to reinforce the letter sounds, here, t is for turkey! Alternatively, you can make this turkey leaf craft with the letter T as well.
What you need:
construction paper
glue
scissors
marker
googly eyes (optional)
What to do to make the Thanksgiving turkey craft:
Trace the child’s hand on a colored pieces of construction paper and cut them out.
Cut a letter ‘T’ out of brown construction paper.
Cut out and orange triangle beaks and a red wattle.
Assemble the turkey by glueing the handprints to the back of the ‘T’, and the beak and the wattle on the front.
Draw eyes on the front of your turkey or use googly eyes if you have them on hand.
